I probably could have found a better time to announce my secular wishes, but let's let bygones be bygones.
Tom found the whole incident quite humorous. I probably would have too, had it not been for my complete out-of-it state—oh—and my continued adamancy over wanting red shoes. I was all business.
I tacked on, "And a red necklace."
(Since I have such a scarce supply of jewelry.)
And then as far as I know, Tom went back to reading and I went back to dreamland.
So yesterday I got to thinking. Should that scripture session have to pass me by completely fruitless? Of course not. I headed out the door in search of red shoes. But I came home empty-handed. If I wasn't so gosh-darn picky.
However, I wasn't that easily deterred. I began pouring over internet shoe sites with my credit card on call, for longer than I really think I should admit. Yet I never put it to use. If I wasn't so gosh-darn picky and cheap.
I guess I should just learn to put some of that resolve and gusto into my scripture reading.

I love my red shoes :) They are super cute with almost completely black church wardrobe. I hope you find some you like! Buying shoes you want can be a pain. It is so much easier to find shoes when you aren't looking for them and can't afford them...
Target often puts their red sparkly "Dorothy" shoes on sale. We've never owned the red - wrong sizes - -but the silver ones have been a huge hit. Your feet are probably the same size as my 4 year old - -check it out.
I love the randomness Season. I also love the shoes on the left, so cute. I want them in like all 4 colors. Alas ... no money. Good luck in your continued shoe search and don't give up!
So cravings come in all sorts and sizes, huh...
Ah yes, the search for the perfect red shoes. It's difficult. Fortunately, my mom found exactly what I wanted and got some for me for Christmas last year. Thank heaven for moms.
Speaking of shoes, do you still have those green tennis shoes from high school? Those were so cute.
"And they did take up their ruby slippers and did go forth in the wilderness..."
Britt—were they lime greenish? After several moments of deep though, I think I vaguely remember them. But we're talking middle school days. Maybe I should invest in more of those too.
I love my red shoes. Every woman should have at least one pair! It's importance is right up their with food storage in my opinion.
Its not it's
Random thought---this weekend I was in Palm Springs (aka "old people/retired town) and hit the jackpot of fanny packs!! There were dozens of them all around me and all I could think about was Tom Thomas! I will never look at a fanny pack the same way again.
I love Shelly's comment. And I especially love the ones on the right. Shoes are more fun to buy during pregnancy because you wear the same size as always -- they don't make you feel fat.
I can't see myself wearing either of those.
