Last night I flatly stated to Thomas: "I'm taking you off my blog."
If I'd known he was going to take it so harshly, I would have prefaced it with "It isn't you—it's me."
In all honesty, I didn't expect him to care. But my, you should have heard his big to-do.
"But why?" He woefully protested.
I simply explained that he hasn't contributed once, and that furthermore, I've decided I want the blog all for myself.
Me. Mine. Mine. Mine. [sinister laugh.]
The poor boy nearly crumbled in despair.
Again I was quite surprised. I mean—you all remember a few months ago when I publicly invited him to share his innermost thoughts, feelings and endless words of wisdom, right? And you remember how he ignored the invitation? Completely?
Exactly.
He demanded that I couldn't just fire him. Sure, I ran the whole blog shindig, but he's at least the assistant to the regional manager, he argued. Plus, he likes the idea of being able to contribute, should he ever finally come around to it.
In a final attempt, he declared that my loyal followers (the whole six of 'em) would be in a rage. They'd demand to know where Tom Thomas went—the contributorless contributor.
I held my ground though.
The conclusion? I've given him one week. One week. Should he fail to post at least something then he's getting the boot, I say. I run a tight ship—it's true.
We shook on it. And I'm a woman of my word.

Tom's other assignment (which he won't know about until he sees this) is to read this. You should read it too. Because it's fun-ny.

And finally, in other news that's 100% unrelated, I get to go to this:
and I'm excited.
For several reasons, but one main reason is because CJane (the author of the blog of the lovely link I just referred you to) is speaking. And I sometimes pretend we're friends. If you're not familiar with CJane, she's sisters to Nie Nie. If you don't know who Nie Nie is, then I suggest taking an hour to become acquainted with her story. It's quite remarkable.

I hope for Tom's sake he gets to it and post something so he can keep his Assistant to the Regional Manager position. He also better learn the lyrics to "She'll be Coming Around the Mountain" because I really think that could work for you guys. Can't wait for the baby to come, I really hope we are here when it happens.

I love the title of this post. That had me giggling before I even read the rest. And I thoroughly enjoyed the CJane's post---very funny.
I guess TomTomity showed you, with his new blog.
You're great!
You two really crack me up! That baby is probably the luckiest little thing on Earth to have you two for parents.
