Starting today. Just like Sister Cook said to.
Even though it's over now—happy General Conference weekend. I say that like it's a holiday—and kind of—it is. I enjoyed it immensely, just as I usually do. Tom had to work all weekend, sadly. Clara's gift to me was to nap through all four sessions, aside from the last half hour of this morning's session wherein she attentively listened to President Monson. As you can see in the documentation above. Speaking of, I thought President Monson's suit was fantastic.
I learned volumes from this conference, as I'm sure everyone else did too. When I was growing up, my mom used to cry over all sorts of things. I thought it was so strange, and I couldn't figure out what she was bawling over most of the time. Welp, looks like the little miss will grow up wondering the very same thing about her teary-eyed mom—until she gets it too. It's in the genes and there's nothing she can do about it. And conference really has a way of bringing it out of ya. Plus, I thought the music was fantastic. And the Mo-Tab people really amaze me, because when the camera gets all up in their faces they really know how to keep it cool. I used to think it was just a camera with a high-quality zoom until I actually went to conference a few years ago and saw that, nope, the cameramen really do get all up in their faces. If someone did that to me I would get all flustered and end up forgetting what I'm singing and probably make a ridiculous looking face. I guess it's just a good thing I can't hold a tune.
Except that—really—Clara deserves a mom with a better singing voice. Lately I've started singing Primary songs to her before I put her down for naps and bedtime. I used to just sing one or two but then she had a bad week of naps so, once again, I marched straight over to Healthy Sleep Habits and it suggested lengthening the "soothing" period. So now I sing a whole concert of Primary songs—except that I'm having trouble remembering the words to many since it's been so long. So I'm not only out of tune, but also sound like this:
♬I like to look for rainbows whenever there is rain / and hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmm hmmmm earth made clean again / I want hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmm hmmmm right after rain / I want to be the best I can / and live with God again♬
Poor Clara. My rendition of Book of Mormon Stories is pretty riveting too. I throw in a couple of "do-do-do-dos" with the "hmm-hmm-hmmms." This girl is most definitely going to be ready for Primary.

That is so cute about Clara listening to Pres. Monson. He really has a way of getting your attention. And Seaz, you have a lovely singing voice, who are you kiddin'? :)
So funny. I had to relearn all the Primary songs when they stuck me in it when we moved to Orem in 2007. Now, I'm teaching them to the nursery kids here in Saratoga. So fun! You should go and buy one of the little pocket sized Primary Hymnals. They are great, then you can just flip through it while singing and you'll have all the words down in no time.
Sweet baby girl slept most of conference??? Now that is some luck! She is too cute for words, I'm not even kidding. Hope you guys are doing great.
I was the same way with my Primary songs, until I was called as Primary Chorister. Now not only do have the words down pat I even know the page numbers!
I cried during more than one talk Sat and Sun! Our poor kids won't get it until they are moms!
