Dinner and a movie

Well let's see. It's Wednesday night. For us, Halloween festivities officially start on Friday night.

• Clara's costume is about 80% done.
• Mine is probably 95% done.
• Tom's? I'd give it a disappointing 40%.

The pressure is on, dear Tom Thomas.

Clara's costume is looking pretty darn cute. If only we could think of a way to get her to wear it—then we'd really be in business. Any time we come near her with it there's been crying, screaming, wailing, you name it. So far my best plan is to force her into it, and then give her a cookie. Here's hoping.

Anyway, I'm posting this video because Tom and I keep giggling over it. You see, it's a real trick to find a way to keep Clara occupied while I'm making dinner. So when I discovered a bag of pompoms, I handed them over like they were gold. Oh, and at the end—aside from Clara's whoopserdo (pronounced: "whoops-ser-do") off the couch—you'll notice Halloween costume parts strewn about. If only we had a room to act as a shrine for all of Tom's costumes. But as it stands—I have no idea where to put all this paraphernalia once Halloween is said and done.

Oh, and next year? I'M in charge of the Halloween costumes.
And I'll break it to you now—things are not going to be this elaborate.

*******
Due to popular demand, I'm posting the Monkey Bread recipe from Our Best Bites.

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar (I used considerably less)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
3 (8-oz) cans refrigerated biscuits, cut into fourths
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Spray a Bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside. (I used an angel cake pan)
2. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a large zip-top bag. Add the quartered biscuits, close the top, and shake to coat the biscuits in cinnamon sugar. Arrange in the prepared pan.
3. Place butter, brown sugar, and honey in a medium or large microwave-safe glass bowl or measuring cup. Cook on high for 1 minute at a time until the butter is melted and the ingredients can be easily mixed. Pour the mixture over the dough balls in the pan.
4. Bake for 20 minutes or until the bread is golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to stand for 5 minutes and then invert the pan onto a plate or serving platter.

Note: Keep 3 to 4 fire extinguishers at bay.

Enjoy!

That is great. I love the funny things that keep little ones entertained. Great!

Yes, lets hope this doesn't become a habit of stuffing. I love how she instinctively wanted to pop it in her mouth when it wouldn't stay down her shirt.

Did you mean to be dropping that MAJOR clue about your costumes by leaving that stuff in plain view????

Thanks for the giggles...Kenzie and loved it. Of course, we're thinking the pillows placed on the ground were put there strategically. I'm still waiting for the pictures of your costumes!
