Breaking news!
This just in! Hot off the press! Get it first here! Extra, extra! Are these getting obnoxious or what!
Announcing!
Tom got a new job! Hody ho! And just to show how excited we are—here's another exclamation point! And here's where you can imagine us slapping our knees and tapping our toes to a banjo! Dosey doe!
Goodness, last week it was a new move. This week it's Tom has a new job. Now, all we need is to announce that we're having another baby girl at the end of July, and we're set in the BIG NEWS department.
He got hired on this week with the LDS Motion Picture Studio in the visual effects department. Right now he's been hired for just a specific project, but as long as he proves himself competent they'll probably hire him as a full-time employee. Plus—they'll also need to like him. Which, could be a daunting task, since Tom is extremely confrontational and incredibly difficult to get along with.
So anyway, for the time being, he's going to keep his other job, since we need those good ol' insurance benefits for the baby coming along at the end of July. (Surprise!) But if all goes accordingly, he'll (hopefully) soon say farewell to Provo Canyon School and write it off as just a weird, bad dream. He's never really loved it there, you know?
The LDS Motion Picture Studio is responsible for putting out the new Bible videos (among lots of other projects) that the church recently released, and is located in Provo right behind the dollar theater and—extra perk—right by JCW's! Yee-haw! (Aside: I've recently fallen deeply in love with JCW's, but we don't really make it over there too often since it isn't close to us. But shoot—what with Tom working right there and all. Game changer, I say!)
So shucks, now that Tom's gonna be working two jobs for a bit, maybe we can actually splurge and get ourselves a new hand-held vacuum!
In other news: Clara is still cute.
Whew.
Today I listened in while she read herself some stories. You could have just mopped my heart off the floor, it was so adorable. There she sat in her Bumbo (recently upgraded to a "reading chair") while she spouted off Green Eggs and Ham, Fox in Socks, Mrs. Wow Never Wanted a Cow, and others. I was amazed at how well she knows the stories. Green Eggs and Ham went something like:
"Samam."
"Samam"
"Ham."
"Ham."
"HAM."
"You fox?"
"You mouse?"
"En tee?" (tree)
"En dark?"
"Tar?" (car)
"En rain?"
"Doat?" (goat)
"Eggs."
"Say!"
"Ne end."
I tried taking a video—but if there's one thing I know, it's that Clara immediately stops all acts of cuteness upon finding she's being taped. I have tons and tons of footage of her just staring at the camera in total, stunned silence. It seems she's set on not letting such charming behavior be documented. Anywhosits, here's the small portion I got.
And in a final piece of news: My toes are still cute too.
Whew.
NE END.
