Dropping in.

Last night for family home evening Tom and I tried acting out the story of Ammon from the Book of Mormon. Things started to get a little off track when Tom mentioned something about "assembling the Avengers" and began spinning pillows on one finger while kicking his legs out in a can-can fashion. Anything to get a laugh from his audience. Finally the production came to an abrupt end when I flung a pile of shoes to the floor (the arms) and exclaimed that I couldn't work with such shoddy actors.

...Family home evening isn't really something that we excel at.

So what's new with you?

In other news, Maren had her blessing this past weekend. And since I've been feeling guilty for two whole years for never taking a close-up picture of Clara in her dress, I made sure to get plenty of Maren. That way I can just photoshop Clara's face on to one of them and she'll never know the difference. Just kidding. (Or am I?) (Cue mysterious music.) But they did wear the same dress—which just so happens to be the same dress my sisters and I wore for our blessings. I think it's adorable. Tom called it "dingy." So there's that.

In other other news, this weekend my parents drove up from Las Vegas and we had a grand ol' time traipsing around Temple Square and City Creek Center. It was good to get out of the house. Although getting myself and two little girls ready for the day is proving to be ever-so-difficult. Most days it takes me until noon to get both girls and myself all looking and smelling presentable, and after all that effort I'm ready to go back to bed. Just last week I was patting myself on the back for getting us all out the door by 11:15 to make a jaunt to Target to buy more milk and a few other essentials. Of course, on the way I pondered all the usual things, like whether I'd remembered to pack enough diapers and whether or not I'd remembered to put on deodorant.

Anyway. Clara was a fan of the water features at Temple Square.

So there's that. We're gettin' along just dandy around these parts. The transition to parenting two children has been a breeze. Maren is pretty laid back. Also? Maren is an Olympic spitter. It's wild. According to Baby Center, she's what they call a "happy spitter." The term sure is adoracute, but the action itself isn't so cute. But hey—at least nursing isn't a train wreck like it was with Clara.

So there's that. Until next time, dear blogdom.

And now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go practice my lines for next week's FHE.

(Well be putting on the production of Moses Parting the Red Sea, the musical.)
(Tickets are available at your local everything.)

You look so good, it makes me sick. I, on the other hand, gained weight over the summer. Back to 20-sec for me, I guess.
