Excuse my rudeness.

She's been here for over a week and I haven't even introduced blogdom to our new tree yet. Gasp!

Aside from the fairly crappy picture—she's really quite lovely. Thus far, she remains nameless, but I have managed to give her a gender. She's a she. It just seemed like she was decked out with too much glitter for her to be anything but a she. Tom was having a difficult time dealing with all the glitter—the heartless grinch. If I had to give a number, I'd guess that about 85% of my Christmas decorations are coated in 5 layers of glitter. Why? Because it's Christmas, for pete's sake.

Last I mentioned our new tree, we had just ordered it. When it arrived, we opened it up to discover they'd sent us the wrong tree. It was 9 feet tall and was covered in white lights. Joyless, merryless, festiveless white lights. Okay, fine. I don't hate white lights. I just sort of hate them. So Tom and I stuffed the 9 foot tree into the car and he marched into Home Depot demanding that restitution be made. Boy, am I feeling dramatic today or what?

Clara's technique for decorating trees is to see just how many ornaments she can fit on one branch.

This year I thought I'd be extra on-the-ball and I already made Christmas cards to send out. I've never made Christmas cards for myself before—isn't that funny? Little did I know how difficult it would be to find a site that A: let's me upload my own design; B: let's me do double-sided printing on a 5x7 flat card, C: doesn't put an obnoxious company watermark at the bottom, D: doesn't cost a couple of arms and legs and, E: doesn't suck, in general. If that sentence doesn't relay my true feelings of frustration over this, then let me clarify: Last night I was ready to rip my hair out and burn it and then stomp on it. And then burn it some more.

...So if anyone knows of a site that fits into the criteria listed above (items A-E), please do tell. For my bald head's sake, at least.

Well then. Toodie loos!

Beautiful tree! You know what they say, glitter is the herpes of the craft world! :) You should post the picture of your Christmas card!

Moo.com. We used this site to print our wedding invitations. We used a postcard printed double sided. They have actual postcard templates, or you can upload your own thing. Not a sniff of company monogram anywhere. We were extremely pleased with the quality. You can have them ship a free sample pack of all the kinds of things they print if you're dubious. The only thing is I don't think they have a 5x7 option; they only go up to a 4x6ish size.

So, I'm sure by now you've long since solved your card delimma, but for future reference, I've been pretty happy with mpix.com for press printed double sided flat cards (I like the pearl paper, and also like the linen paper for some things). Your girls are so cute and your tree looks great :) --Amy
