Next, I just recently found out that I'm to attend my company's cruise to Alaska in the middle of May. It's quite the to-do, this cruise. The who's who of the crafting world will be there, and there will be classes, contests, and jaw-dropping prizes. Overall everyone's wildest dreams should come true while there. Originally I was told that I was too new to get to go on this one, but plans have changed and I'm booked to set sail with my crafting posse May 10. I've never been on a cruise before, and I'm quite excited. I've heard great things about the Alaskan cruise, too. Although, I do wish Tom could come. Having a Tom-Thomas along for any trip is the difference between a mediocre trip and the most adventure-filled journey of a lifetime. No one should go on vacation without him. And trust me, I'm not just saying that because I married him. Tom is like a hound dog that sniffs out amusement (and creates plenty while he's at it). Maybe I should market him?
After that we'll be heading to St. George to get together with my mom's family to celebrate my Grandma's 80th birthday—or something like that. She's a big partier—so who knows what could be in store.
On top of everything else, there's all those holidays in May. I certainly plan to find time to celebrate each one. I'll fill everyone in, since these are events we can all look forward to:
May 1—Not only is it May Day, but also Save The Rhino Day.
May 3—Lumpy Rug Day. Why? Because everyone needs to take time out and appreciate a good rug.
May 5—Almost as widely known as Cinco de Mayo, we have National Hoagie Day. Anyone want to get together for that?
May 9—Lost Sock Memorial Day. It's already marked on my calendar.
May 13—Frog Jumping Day. I'll be on the crafting pleasure-cruise, however I think I might try to get some of the ladies to pause from their crafts long enough to engage in a hearty game of leapfrog for just a bit.
Plus, don't forget: The first Friday in May is International Tuba Day. Let's all stop and think about where we would be without tubas. And just as important, how many of you remembered that next month just so happens to be National Blood Pressure, Hamburger, Photograph, Recommitment, Salad, AND Older Americans Month? (Among others).
That's just a few of the highlights. I'm most certainly not making these up. You can read all about every holiday on every day (by the way, happy Garlic Day, everyone) by going to Holiday Insights.

I think you have too much free time on your hands. (because of all the crazy holiday's you named off) Have fun on the cruise. Maybe you can sneak Tom in your suitcase.
I am jealous! That cruise sounds awesome...not a bad way to start out a new job.
And oh yes...the camping trip to Valley of Fire. Good thing you didn't go into the tarantula story. I'm heading to bed soon - I shouldn't have even typed that!
Sure wish we were joining everyone in St. George!
I think on Lost Sock Memorial Day we need to take a moment and remember all those poor socks of Sandy's that were eaten by her bed. Light a candle and hug your socks a little tighter.
A tarantula??? Yes, maybe it's a good thing you didn't give any details. We are really excited to spend some time with you guys. Lily said the funniest thing on Friday.
Lily - I just called Aunt Season and she said I could go sledding.
Me - Oh really, you called her.
Lily - Yep, on my cell phone. Come on mom, let's go sledding.
I thought it was so cute that she thought of you. And apparently she has your number programmed into her minnie mouse plastic cell phone :)
That's funny, you call him Tom Thomas too.
