The low-down on Moab

We had a great time in Moab this past weekend. And just when I was beginning to think I was skirting by with a disaster-free camping trip, a fierce storm came through while we were away hiking at Arches National Park. It swept our tent away and gave a good portion of the contents inside a nice, waterlogged feel. Just another adventure to add to the "why camping's not my thing" tally. Such is life. Here's the first-hand account:

Tag and Tracy's friends were kind enough to let us sleep in their SUV—and with a little work—we managed to set up an all-out Hilton in the back of their car. I suppose the saddest casualty brought on by Mother Nature's most recent blow were our pillows—which were too wet to sleep with—and my books:

Despite it though, it was a weekend of grand fun, grand company and grand food, which is naturally my kind of weekend.

We hiked up to the Delicate Arch, which is the famous arch on the Utah license plate. It was a beautiful hike and an amazing scene once we got there.

Would you believe that this blue-skied, sunshiny day is the same day that had the horrendous squall that beat our tent senseless? It was quite the moody day, that's for sure.

Here we have quite the pose from Tom and his brother Taggart. While Tag almost has accomplished the "look," Tom's oversized poncho unfortunately takes away from his charming physique.

This scenic stop was called "Balanced Rock." Although it is an accurate description, I do think that the park rangers who named it could work on their creativity a bit.

And here's another short video. Next week when I'm on my cruise, one of my main responsibilities is going to be taking video of the whole sha-bang so we can publicize it big time on our company blog, Facebook and YouTube. So today I spent a great many hours teaching myself iMovie. I'm quite behind the times in that department, and I'd never used the program until today. So please forgive my ridiculously obvious amateur-ness.

And although very few of you probably care, I made another one and loaded it onto Oh My Craft's YouTube account, just as a test. It will be removed pretty soon—I just needed to make sure I was transferring everything from iMovie to YouTube correctly: Fourwheeling in Moab.

I feel your tent angst. But it does look beautiful. How were the little guys?
