For Halloween, that is. Last year was our first Halloween together as a married duo and we really got into the spirit of things. I mean, Tom Thomas even sewed for it. And I went through like six wigs until I found the right one. (I'm exaggerating.) This year? Yikes. We didn't carve pumpkins. (Bawling). Nor did we dress up. (Bawling some more). Nor did we eat candy. (That's a boldfaced lie.)(...Or is it baldfaced?) It's like getting a 97% on your first essay assignment in your high school AP English class with Mr. Mitchell. You can only go downhill from there. (I'm speaking from experience, if you hadn't noticed—bawling, still.)
We had every intention to get into the spirit of the Hallow's this year. But, yeah, well—Clara looked cute though.
Actually, she sported the ladybug look, but who can resist a baby in a British 'stache?
Actually, she sported the ladybug look, but who can resist a baby in a British 'stache?
She looks like she just got caught red-handed, no?
Here's a conversation Tom and I had the other day:
Tom: You should buy some candy for trick-or-treaters.
Season, nonchalantly: I already did.
(Tom's eyes bulge in shock and surprise.)
Tom: Where is it??
Season: I hid it.
Tom: Well....where is it?
Season: You won't find it.
Tom: Is it in your trunk?
Season: It isn't for you.
Tom: It's in your trunk, isn't it?
Season: Feel free to look.
(It wasn't in the trunk.)
Another conversation, a day later.
Season: Are you getting hungry for dinner?
Tom: A little.
Tom: You know what would hold me over?
(Gives big-eyed, earnest, expectant look.)
Season: Nope. It's not for you.
Well then. Happy Halloween, all.

I love the Burbs! I have to hide candy form Tag too. They are so much alike. Clara looks adorable as usual! Lucy was a pig. I can't wait to post the pictures. Look for your murder mystery invite in the mail. I talked to Jerry about it and he said they will participate. I really hope the weather cooperates so you guys will get here safe and sound. Anyway, Happy Halloween!!
I love the Burbs too! I watched Young Frankenstein and wondered how it got a PG rating and knit on Clara's Christmas stocking. 4 kids came. We have discovered the ultimate Trick-or-treaters diverter--remove your front steps! Oh, and live 4 miles from civilization. Clara deserves a medal for tolerating such humbug parents! She looks like she took to that costume!
How can you say that you didn't do costumes this year? Have you so quickly forgotten Watersdown? (All costumes were superb, by the way!)
Clara more than made up for both of you, anyway. And there's always next year for pumpkins......Happy Halloween!
I know what you mean, I had such a smashing great idea last year and we pulled it off great! This year, Charlie decided to go solo and be spider man which spoiled any sort of group costume. I ended up being Little Red and Dave was the hunter. Sorry to say, I don't even think pictures were taken of us.
"you had that in your trousers ALL DAY??"
you are burbs fans too?!?! we looove that movie. you should come over & watch it with us and we can eat sardines & pretzels.
