We're full of the Halloween spirit these days.
Halloween get-up: sponsored by Grandma
Leg warmers: I bought off Etsy. (I also got some green & black striped ones—so cute!)
Sweatshirt: Not really part of the ensemble, but it's chilly today! As I type, the mountains I see out my window are turning whiter and whiter...
Halloween costume planning is fully under way around here. Last year we did a whole bottle-full of nothing (okay, there was the whole Watersdown affair, so that counts for something), but two years ago you might recall how we really out-did ourselves. This year—should everything go according to plan—is gonna blow everyone out of the water. Tom's scheming has become so elaborate that once he's finished, we're not even sure he'll be able to get out of his costume. And it's also iffy as to whether he'll be able to fit through doorways, eat, or socialize with anyone while wearing it.
Would you like a hint? Think unitards. Of the bright green and purple variety:
Nope—not Teletubbies, but thanks for playing anyway. (Although there's always next year.) (If you already know what we're planning on—keep it secret, please.) (Tom's request.) (As usual.)
A couple of things I've learned about unitards since trying mine on:
• They're really quite comfy little things. They're not hot or scratchy or as embarrassingly tight as one might think. Spandex suits of cool, breathable wonder! Who knew? I may start sleeping in mine and wearing it out to check the mail. Trust me, it's super attractive.
Would it creep you out if I told you I was typing this in my unitard right now? Well, I'm not. But now I wish I was.
Anyway, here's a conversation I had with my space heater today:
Season: Hey Space Heater! Been awhile!
S.H.: Well hey there, Season. How've you been?
Season: Oh, okay. I'm actually a little bummed to be seeing you again so soon, no offense. How was your summer?
S.H.: Oh great. Just great.
Season: Do anything fun?
S.H.: Welp—mostly just hung around behind the couch for a couple of months.
Season: Yeah, I know how that goes.
S.H.: Yeah.
Season: Yeah. Well. I'll let you get back to work.
S.H.: Okie-dokie.
If this weather keeps up I'll soon be having a chat with the hot chocolate maker as well.
Toodles and noodles.
*******
Incidentally, after reading about my conversation, Tom told me about a similar conversation that he had this morning, probably right around the same time that I had mine. It began something like this:
Tom: Oh, hey Breath. Haven't seen you in a while....

I bet your space heater cried tears of joy at your happy reunion. My space heater is on year round at my house and never gets a vacation from me. Poor lil' guy.
