So you think you can comedian.

Today we celebrate a four month Clara. The pediatrician said she's practically old enough for cheeseburgers and filet mignon. (Well, he didn't actually say that, but he had that tone.) She's just delightful these days. She pretty much cutes wherever she goes. She rolls over faster than you can say "roll over." She investigates her hands and feet like the studious biped apprentice that she is. She reaches for her toys and grunts all the while just to prove how hard she's working for it. She's got this permanent rosy cheek look and bright red nose because most nights she prefers to sleep directly on her face—and there's no stopping her (believe me, we've tried). She gabs her way through all of Sunday School. She's all grown up and taking over China. (Name that movie. Except you, Rach.)

But here's what she doesn't do: Laugh.

We've tried every joke in the book too. Every day I ask her where her laughs are and she just gives me this expression that says: "If you'd just give me some material to work with, obviously." It's been a devastating jolt for Tom and I. To realize that we're not as side-splitting hilarious as we've always thought.

No, we haven't gotten a laugh, but we have gotten Laugh's second cousin twice removed: Exhale Excitedly.

Maybe we'll sit her down with a bag of Skittles and put on a couple episodes of Modern Family. If Phil's birthday doesn't break her then we'll really know something's wrong.

Anyhoo—more cutes:

Adorable, I say! Nate and I were reading this silently together and we were laughing at the exact same time(we must read at the same pace). Bottom line:even if Clara doesn't think you're funny, we do.

She is so cute! Happy 4 months to Clara. :) I hope she gives you a big hearty laugh soon. (if it makes you feel any better... I can't get James to laugh for me, I guess only Bryan is funny.)

She is one stinkin' cute baby! I think maybe Clara and Lucy discussed a few things before coming here. They must have decided that Clara would do all the busy work and Lucy would just sit around and laugh all the time. Seriously, Lucy doesn't do a thing - except laugh and smile. I think we should get them together so Clara can teach Lucy how to roll over and play with her toys :) We miss you guys. Would you tell Tom I'm going to send him an email tomorrow about the family tree thing we talked about. Thanks. Talk to you soon!!!

Have you tickled her EVERYWHERE?? Seriously, she'll be laughing so hard soon she'll pee her pants--oh, she already does that, doesn't she. Have you tried Monty Python?

Make sure you show her the "Moon Landing" one. That HAS to do the trick!

What a cute little girl! She has the cutest little red cheecks. Congrats on making it 4 months with such a sweet little one. As for laughing - Emma would only laugh to weird noises. We would try all sorts of stuff. It started out as a cough but then turned into a laugh.
